This Marietta manufacturing company is looking for two immediate newly created positions for a Supply Chain Buyer/Planner are being added to support our growing business. Each position will support different functions of our purchasing process. One position will support our AST Materials Manager in the purchase of raw materials and the other position will support our Procurement Specialist who is responsible for a wide variety of purchasing needs within the company. The successful candidates will be responsible to purchase materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Key objectives will be achieving, improving, exceeding targeted customer service levels and managing inventory levels and targets.
Examples of Key Activities:
Qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services.
Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintain a current database of vendor information.
Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all order to ensure on-time deliveries.
Proactively report product and material availability issues
Review and evaluate sales data to validate and refine forecast models
Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials and components in conjunction with our production management teams.
Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, reduction and reserve percentage measurements, product life cycle management
Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information
Experience with complex Excel models used to analyze forecast data and inventory levels to plan production buys accordingly
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management or Business Management preferred
1-3 years relevant experience
Advanced excel skills
Experience with consumer products and/or e-commerce experience preferred
Required Technical Competencies:
Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
