Mancan has partnered with a Chardon company who is in need of an Administrative Assistant on 1st shift working from 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. This is a temp to permanent role and pay starts out at $13.04 an hour.

Under general supervision of Management, performs a variety of routine secretarial and administrative support tasks to a division or department head; organizes office activities and coordinates communication with other functions, outside agencies and the general public; performs related duties as required.

Typical Examples of Duties & Percentage of Time:
35-40% Performs routine administrative tasks; Coordinates communications, relieving the management of administrative detail, prepares confidential reports and/or correspondence; analyzes information & prepares summaries; prepares responses to inquiries and/or complaints; aids in implementation and formation of programs and/or special projects; provides information and prepares reports to aid in decision making).

25-35% Performs fiscal functions; Assists accounting staff as directed to assure timely and efficient operation of the department including but not limited to H/R, A/R & A/P tasks. Orders and maintains inventory of office supplies.

15-25% Assists the Prevailing Wage Coordinator in the review of wage rates for various County related projects; prepares typed copy (e.g., correspondence, reports, minutes of meetings, tables, graphs and/or charts) from rough written copy, oral instructions and/or dictation proofs copy, makes corrections and distributes.

10-15% Greets, screens, assists and directs callers and visitors; Provides information and referral to appropriate personnel; Takes and relays messages; Maintains the Departments files and filing system including the use of any electronic document management system.

0-10% Assists Management with the organization and assembly of bid books for Department projects. Operates a variety of office machines and equipment including personal computer and related software, calculator, fax and copier;

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of (1) departmental rules, regulations and procedures*, (2) modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, (3) basic accounting-clerical principles and practices

Skill in (4) operation of modern office equipment; (5) typing; (6) use of personal computer and related software;

Ability to (7) explain policies and regulations of the department in clear, concise manner, (8)

organize and manage office procedures, (9) establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, (10) prepare and maintain office records and reports, (11) provide administrative support to management, (12) communicate effectively both orally and in writing, (13) add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers.

Suggested Training and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training in business or a related field and two years related experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job.

Additional Requirements:
Must pass (test negative) pre-employment drug test.
May drive personal vehicle for county business
