Fabric Management Technician

A dynamic High Point Furniture Design Company is seeking to build our team with a Fabric Management Technician. Must be literate and able to rea, speak, and understand English.
Will partner with various departments in the company in order to manage fabric, domestic garment manufacturing. This person will work closely with design, product development and production.
You can expect to…
Review and prepare color standard for mill to prepare lab dips & review with design for approval
Follow up with mill for lab dips and bulk submits
Prepare cost sheet for fabric buy
Manage & create fabric BOM in system
Fabric negotiation to secure cost savings to ensure purchases the best price from mill
Work out best delivery with mill
Create fabric purchase order in system
Daily communication between mills and factories
Arrange fabric testing and inspection
Collaborate and work closely with merchandiser & production to book / secure fabric greige for key fabrics for each season
Prepare approved bulk fabric shipment swatch to production
Setting up and maintain fabric file – fabric standard and bulk shipment samples
Work closely with factory, mill and production on fabric defects & negotiate fabric claims with
mills and factories
Approve bulk fabric shipment sample with design & sending comments to mills & factories
Create, maintain fabric tracking charts based on projections, estimated yields for bulk buys
& cross referencing
Knowledge of sustainability, familiarity example – fabrics and lining.
Traceability, restricted substance list

At least 1 year experience in Fabric
Experience in Woven, Cut + Sew, Denims and Leather
Computer proficiency:
This is full-time temp to permanent job opportunity with excellent advancement potential for the right person.
Starting pay is based on experience and will range between $12.00-$14.00 hourly (possibly more depending upon experience level)
