Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Extrusion Operator to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team. This position is critical in managing the extrusion of resin pressurized water vessels, ensuring consistent product quality and process efficiency. No prior extrusion experience? No problem—we provide on-the-job training for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a great work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
Extrusion Operations
* Operate and monitor extrusion equipment from setup through shutdown.
* Calibrate machines and adjust settings to meet product specifications.
* Maintain consistent output and minimize downtime.
Quality Control
* Perform in-process inspections to ensure product quality and dimensional accuracy.
* Identify and correct defects or irregularities promptly to prevent rework or scrap.
* Follow all SOPs and product standards.
Material Handling
* Measure, mix, and load resin materials and additives.
* Track material usage and report discrepancies or issues.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly.
* Collaborate with maintenance for routine upkeep and repairs.
Continuous Improvement
* Participate in process improvement efforts and provide feedback on workflow enhancements.
* Identify quality issues and suggest cost-saving opportunities.
Documentation
* Accurately record production data, machine settings, maintenance logs, and quality checks.
* Ensure all records comply with company policies and industry standards.
Team Collaboration
* Communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and quality assurance personnel.
* Participate in team meetings focused on production goals, KPIs, and safety.
Experience
* Previous extrusion or manufacturing experience preferred.
* Training available for motivated individuals with mechanical aptitude.
Technical Skills
* Ability to read technical manuals, follow detailed instructions, and understand schematics.
* Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and tools.
Attention to Detail
* Strong focus on product quality and consistency.
* Ability to identify deviations and take corrective actions.
Problem-Solving
* Analytical thinker capable of troubleshooting mechanical and process issues effectively.
Safety Awareness
* Knowledge of and adherence to workplace safety practices (e.g., PPE use, lockout/tagout).
* Willingness to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Teamwork & Adaptability
* Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
* Ability to adapt in a dynamic production environment and meet tight deadlines.
