We are seeking a dependable **Building Maintenance Worker** for an apartment complex in Pittsburgh. This is a **full-time, day shift** position paying $21.00/hour and is a **temp-to-perm opportunity**.
Job Duties Include:
* Full building maintenance work
* Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs (any or all experience highly preferred)
* Painting, changing outlet sockets, general apartment upkeep
* Responding to routine maintenance and repair requests
* Handle routine maintenance projects as scheduled by the Supervisor
* Participate in all preventative maintenance programs and keep records of work performed
* Respond to maintenance requests within a 24-hour period or notify Supervisor of the need for additional time
* Respond to emergency maintenance requests immediately – including after hours through a rotating callback schedule covering weekends and holidays
* Participate in safety programs and be familiar with evacuation procedures
* Maintain property equipment based on manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals
* Know and understand all emergency shutoff systems (gas, water, electric, etc.) and emergency property securing procedures
* Keep storage areas neat, properly lit, and locked
* Perform electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, outlets, switches, etc.
* Perform plumbing repairs on drain stoppages, leaking faucets, showerheads, toilets, etc.
* Assist with unit turnover including painting, cleaning, and repairs to ensure readiness for occupancy
* Perform necessary painting in common areas
* Assist in inventory control and help maintain supply levels for parts and materials
* Maintain grounds, common areas, walkways, roadways, parking areas, trees, and shrubs, ensuring they are clean and hazard-free
* Manage trash removal systems and maintain efficient operation of trash compactors, disposals, and roll-away systems
* Understand and follow directions for any chemical or cleaning products used
* Perform janitorial duties as needed to meet property standards
* Communicate professionally with residents, staff, contractors, and public officials
Requirements:
* Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
* Hands-on experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance tasks
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
