Band Saw Operator

A dynamic Streetsboro company is looking for a skilled Saw Operator.
This is temp to hire $16-$19/hr
Shift is 8am-4:30pm
Training is 2 weeks on first shift 6a-2:30p
Sets up and operates band saw machines to cut metal stock pieces to specified dimensions Sets controls to adjust speed, feed rate and tension of the blade. Installs saw blade and sets blade tension and cutting speed for specified operation. Sets saw blade angle to obtain desired angle cuts, using wrench. Sets stops and guides to control dimension of cut, using steel rule and wrenches. Positions and secures stock against stops or in feeding device. Turns valve to start flow of coolant against cutting area. Starts machine and observes operation. Replaces defective cutting blade or wheel, using handtools. Mounts pieces in holding devices. Responsible for proper use of saws and safeguarding equipment from loss or damage. Operates saws to cut along scribed or measured dimensions. Responsible for safe and productive saw operation. Verifies dimensions of finished workpieces using measuring tools such as calipers and measuring tape.
Operates overhead magnet cranes to move any material over 35 lbs ensuring all safety standards and procedures are followed.
Responsible for pulling and transferring correct stock from inventory to machine. Stages material for cutting using magnet cranes and moves material using forklifts.
Cleans operated equipment and responsible for light day-to-day equipment maintenance. Responsible for notifying Maintenance Technician of any needed maintenance or repairs and notifying managers about any potential safety concerns.
Operates forklift or a side loader to move material following safety standard and procedures.
