Position: Material Handler
Location: Canton, OH
Pay:15.00/hr.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Material Handler with experience in operating overhead cranes to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous flow of materials for our production processes. Your ability to safely operate an overhead crane, along with your physical strength and reliability, will be essential in maintaining a smooth and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate overhead cranes to move and position materials in accordance with safety guidelines and company procedures.
Lift, maneuver, and transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs. using the overhead crane.
Safely load and unload materials from trucks, conveyor systems, and storage areas.
Perform quality checks to ensure materials meet required specifications before handling or moving.
Maintain accurate records of materials handled, including quantities, locations, and movement details.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to support manufacturing processes.
Conduct routine inspections of the overhead crane, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Continuously monitor and assess work area for potential hazards, taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents.
Keep work area clean and organized to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
Participate in team meetings, providing input on process improvements and safety initiatives.
Follow a rotating lunch schedule to ensure uninterrupted coverage of the machine.
Qualifications:
Experience operating overhead cranes is required.
Physical capability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Reliable and punctual attendance, ensuring smooth operations at all times.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers.
Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn about the specific machinery and materials handled.
Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with a machine that operates continuously.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
4-10's mon-thurs 7-530 pm (Friday OT potential)
