Fabricator

A Company in Fredericktown is looking for a Fabricator to join their team. The purpose of this role is to fabricate and weld metal products according to mechanical drawings by using proper tools, equipment, and machines. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with MIG welding, fabrication tools, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Saturdays: 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM (as needed)
Starting wage is $20hr
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform MIG welding to meet company quality standards
-Read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
-Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools
-Monitor equipment for defects, malfunctions, or material issues
-Use precision measuring instruments to check work
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow company policies, safety rules, and work procedures
- Complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
-Take direction and feedback from supervisors and team members
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient with MIG welding techniques
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
-Skilled in using fabrication tools and machinery safely
- Familiar with precision measuring instruments (calipers, tape measures, etc.)
- Basic math skills, including measurement conversions
-Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work
-Able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Able to stay focused, ask questions, and follow safety guidelines
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Education & Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-1–2 years of welding and fabrication experience
-Ability to pass a UMD welding test
- Must have a valid driver’s license
-Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be accepted
Work Environment:
-Manufacturing/fabrication shop environment
-Standing, bending, lifting, and using tools for extended periods
-Must wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols
