Massillon Mancan is assisting a Canal Fulton Company in their search for a fabricator with carpentry experience. Fabricator is responsible for all carpentry work as assigned by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Proficient in taking a hands-on approach to transforming design concepts into physical exhibits and displays
• Utilize carpentry skills to build structures such as frames, platforms, walls, and display cases. This includes precise measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials to create sturdy and visually appealing exhibit components
• Apply finishes such as paint, stains, varnishes, or laminates to exhibit components to enhance their aesthetic appeal and durability
• Incorporate technology components into exhibits, such as lighting systems, interactive displays, audio-visual equipment, and digital screens
• Ensure that all exhibit structures are structurally sound, stable, and safe for use
• Work closely with exhibit designers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate design blueprints and technical drawings into tangible products
• Use of power tools, hand tools, table saws, and forklifts
• Ability to read blueprints and work independently
• Perform offsite work as necessary
• Required to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance
• Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Education/Experience/Certifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 3-5 years of related experience and/or training;
Or, equivalent combination of education and experience
• Forklift certification
• Valid driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
• Time management skills
• Oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Detailed oriented and able to meet deadlines
• Build from blueprint or schematic
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
