Mancan in partnership with an Ashtabula facility is in search of a Instrumentation and Electrical Technician. Pay is based on experience.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technicians (I&E Techs) to support a dynamic, continuously operating manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, testing, and upgrading of instrumentation and electrical systems that are critical to plant safety and performance.
Technicians must be safety-focused, technically proficient, and able to work overtime and during plant outages as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely and efficiently maintain and repair manufacturing and utility systems in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
* Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation issues affecting plant operations.
* Monitor and analyze equipment performance; report failures and assist in investigations and root cause analysis.
* Use computer systems to source spare parts, complete work documentation, and maintain accurate records.
* Install, calibrate, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair instruments and electrical equipment following NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, ISA, and internal company standards.
* Interpret and utilize technical documentation including wiring schematics, one-line diagrams, control schematics, P&IDs, and loop diagrams.
* Troubleshoot and repair motor control circuits, VFDs, motors, and associated equipment.
* Perform control valve maintenance and repair.
* Participate in training and professional development activities; provide training to other maintenance team members as needed.
* Collaborate on cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement projects targeting safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Maintain clean work areas, uphold safe work practices, and proactively report and correct hazardous conditions.
* Share and implement maintenance best practices across the team.
* Accurately complete all required documentation and reports.
* Adhere to all company safety and operational policies, rules, and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Minimum 5 years of electrical and/or instrumentation maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
* Trade certifications or credentials from accredited programs preferred.
* Previous experience in a chemical or continuous process plant environment is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, process control, and motor control systems.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation and schematics.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance systems.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and respond during outages.
* Physically able to climb ladders/stairs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Work Schedule:
* Standard: Monday–Friday Day Shift
* Note: This role has the potential to transition to a 12-hour rotating shift schedule based on operational needs.
