Maintenance Supervisor

Mancan in partnership with an Ashtabula facility is in search of a Maintenance Supervisor on 1st shift. Pay is based on experience $90-$100K annual salary.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team in a continuous manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable execution of maintenance activities while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can coach and develop hourly mechanics, drive performance, and support long-term operational goals across safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and direct maintenance personnel in the safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution of all maintenance and plant support activities.
* Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, internal procedures, ISO standards (where applicable), and relevant codes.
* Support and enforce regulatory compliance including PSM and occupational health & safety standards.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, reliability, environmental performance, and maintenance efficiency.
* Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety culture and ensure compliance with safe work practices.
* Foster a respectful, inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
* Coach, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel using development plans and competency models.
* Collaborate with the Planning/Scheduling team to estimate jobs and address workflow challenges.
* Ensure availability of tools, equipment, and resources for the safe and timely completion of tasks.
* Provide day shift leadership and be available for off-hours or emergency coverage as needed.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a maintenance-related field preferred.
* Certified journeyman status in a mechanical trade is a plus.
* Minimum of 10 years’ maintenance experience in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
* At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within maintenance.
* Strong technical background in mechanical systems, rotating equipment, valves, piping, and heat exchangers.
* Solid understanding of maintenance best practices and their impact on plant reliability.
* Proficiency in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to lead, coach, and develop others.
* Demonstrated ability to manage performance, promote change, and maintain high standards.
