Mancan is currently looking for a Plumber
MAJOR FUNCTION:
• Install, maintain, and repair various plumbing fixtures and accessories in a safe and cost-effective manner that supports the goals of the District.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Four (4) years of experience in plumbing.
• Valid Florida driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Journeyman Plumber license
• National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification.
• Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.
• Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
• Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
• Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Install, alter, maintain, and repair plumbing and heating systems and fixtures.
• Make necessary drawings or sketches for repair work.
• Maintain/order all supplies/materials and generate purchase requisitions.
• Size pipe, solder, vent, and repair plumbing systems.
• Assess and repair non-potable pumping systems.
• Purge and service vacuum systems and pumps.
• Report asbestos when discovered.
• Repair and replace fire hydrants on District property.
• Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
