Youngstown company is seeking a Dismantler.
The Dismantler is responsible for safely dismantling pallets using manual and powered equipment, inspecting boards and runners, and preparing materials for recycling or further processing. The role requires safe handling of equipment, adherence to PPE requirements, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The pay is 17.00/hour training then go to piecework based on production levels after training This is a 7am to 3:30pm shift
Key Responsibilities
• Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE including workboots, gloves, eye protection, and ear protection.
.Operate dismantling equipment safely under training and supervision, including the Runagrade dismantling saw.
• Observe proper manual handling and lifting techniques while moving runners and boards.
• Let boards fall onto the conveyor line or stack runners as instructed for wrapping and inventory.
• Inspect dismantled boards and runners for quality and damage, reporting any issues to the trainer or line manager.
.Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures if equipment jams or malfunctions occur.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, removing scrap, nails, and debris regularly.
• Follow trainer instructions and feedback to develop safe and efficient dismantling skills.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Ability to lift and handle pallets and boards safely (up to 50 lbs repeatedly).
Ability to follow safety procedures and wear all required PPE.
• Basic attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to learn and follow instructions from trainer/mentor.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
Working Conditions
• Work in a manufacturing/production environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting required.
• Exposure to dust, wood, and nails.
Training & Development
• New hires will observe a trainer for 2–3 days before operating machinery.
• Hands-on training under direct supervision will follow to ensure safe and proper dismantling techniques.
• Ongoing coaching and feedback will be provided to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality.
Physical Requirements
• Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Manual dexterity to handle tools safely.
• Ability to maintain focus and awareness during repetitive tasks.
Performance Expectations
• Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Follow trainer instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain high quality standards during dismantling and stacking.
• Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
