Youngstown company is looking for an inside sorter The shift is 7am to 3:30pm The pay is 17.00/hour training then piecework works inside.
The Inside Sort Technician sorts pallets according to size and customer specifications, ensuring quality before they are put into inventory. This role involves inspecting repaired pallets, identifying substandard pallets for repair or disposal, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and performing repetitive heavy lifting using proper techniques and PPE. The technician also reports pallets that are missing daubers to the line manager so that the Repair Technician can address the issue.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection
• Sort pallets by size and customer specification.
Ensure all heat treat stamps are blacked out.
Verify all boards are securely fastened, no nails protruding, no broken or missing boards or runners..
• Take substandard pallets to Repair Technician and identify pallets not to repair or send to inventory.
Report pallets missing a dauber to the line manager so the Repair Technician can address the issue.
Work Area
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace daily.
Do not block doorways or emergency exits.
Inspect all pallets repaired in the shop that day for quality compliance.
Safety & Lifting
• Perform repetitive heavy lifting (up to 50+ lbs per pallet).
Use proper lifting techniques at all times.
Wear all required PPE (work boots, gloves, eye protection, ear protection).
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in pallet handling or warehouse work preferred.
Attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting and follow safety procedures.
