Mancan Staffing is assisting a local South Charleston firm seeking an accountant/bookkeeper.
Full time Temp to perm position
Schedule = Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Pay is based on skills - $17-$22 / hour
Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine bookkeeping functions, including data entry, bank and credit card reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assist with payroll processing and related reporting (as needed)
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Assist with month-end close procedures
• Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers
• Assist with sales tax filings and basic compliance reporting
• Support year-end processes, including 1099 preparation
• Communicate with internal staff and clients to resolve discrepancies
• Work primarily in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks Desktop, or Online and other accounting software
• Maintain organized electronic documentation
Qualifications:
• Proven bookkeeping experience
• Strong experience using QuickBooks (required)
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles
• Accounting education or accounting experience is a big plus
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and in an office environment
