Process Technician

Mancan in partnership with an Albion, PA facility is in search of an Injection Molding Process Technician. Hours will be 7:30am-6pm Monday-Thursday. Pay will be based on experience ranging from $20-$24 an hour.
Job Summary
The Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for setting up, optimizing, and troubleshooting injection molding processes to ensure consistent production of high-quality plastic parts. This role supports production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining stable processes, reducing scrap, and improving cycle times.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and start injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment, and robotics
* Perform mold, material, and color changes safely and efficiently
* Develop, optimize, and document molding processes (temperatures, pressures, cooling, cycle times)
* Troubleshoot molding defects including short shots, flash, sinks, warpage, burns, and cosmetic issues
* Monitor production runs to ensure quality standards and production targets are met
* Adjust machine parameters to maintain process stability and minimize scrap
* Conduct first-article inspections and support quality audits
* Maintain accurate setup sheets, process documentation, and change records
* Assist with preventive maintenance of molds and molding equipment
* Train and support operators on proper molding procedures and quality standards
* Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping policies
* Participate in continuous improvement, cost reduction, and lean manufacturing efforts
Qualifications (Suggested)
* Prior experience as an Injection Molding Process Technician or similar role
* Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, materials, and troubleshooting
* Ability to read and follow setup sheets and process documentation
* Experience with quality inspections and defect analysis
* Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
