Mancan is currently looking for a Diesel Mechanic for a client in Alva, FL.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, experience with preventive maintenance programs, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on diesel engines and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and inspections.
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and other components.
• Use diagnostic tools and computerized equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and parts inventories.
• Test-drive vehicles and equipment to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean work environment.
• Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status to supervisors and customers.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or related role.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
• Experience using diagnostic software and repair tools.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
• ASE Certification or equivalent certifications are a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience with heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or fleet maintenance.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and inspection requirements.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
