Forklift Operator

Northfield Mancan is assisting an East Cleveland Metal Plant who is looking for Forklift Operators. This is a 1st shift position 6:30am-3pm Monday-Friday and the starting pay is $17.50 an hour. YOU MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND 2 POINTS OR LESS ON DRIVING RECORD.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts to transport ferrous materials within the facility.
Load and unload materials from vehicles, storage areas, and production areas.
Ensure proper handling and identification of all materials.
Perform routine checks on forklift equipment to ensure operational safety.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company safety policies.
Communicate with coworkers to coordinate movements and maintain efficient workflow.
Record keeping of inventory movements and compliance with documentation procedures.
Adhere to safety management standards and participate in safety meetings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience as a forklift operator in an industrial environment.
Knowledge of various types of ferrous materials and their handling requirements.
Strong understanding of warehouse data systems.
Excellent coordination skills and a good sense of balance.
Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
Good mathematical aptitude and ability to perform accurate counts.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor.
Comfortable working in environments that may be dusty and noisy.
Ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
