Unit Turn Technician / General Maintenance Technician
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (based on experience and skillset)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
On-Call Requirement: Participation in an on-call rotation after successful completion of approximately four weeks of training
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Unit Turn Technician to join our property management team. This position is responsible for preparing apartment units for new residents by completing general maintenance, repairs, and improvements between move-outs and move-ins. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic, basic maintenance knowledge, and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy by completing repairs and maintenance tasks
• Replace fixtures, hardware, blinds, light bulbs, and other apartment components as needed
• Complete touch-up painting and general unit improvements
• Assist with appliance installation, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
• Conduct inspections to ensure units meet company standards before move-in
• Maintain grounds and common areas as needed
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Participate in an on-call rotation after training is completed
Qualifications
• Previous maintenance, handyman, construction, or property maintenance experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
