Swiss CNC Machinist (Setup & Operation)
Location: Fairview, PA
Schedule: Monday–Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: Competitive wage based on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Swiss CNC Machinist with setup capabilities to join our growing manufacturing team in Fairview, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Swiss-style CNC machines while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and safety. This position plays a critical role in producing precision-machined components that meet customer specifications and industry standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Set up and operate Swiss CNC machines for production runs.
* Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
* Install tooling, make tool offsets, and perform machine adjustments as needed.
* Load raw materials and monitor machine performance throughout production.
* Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
* Verify dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
* Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections to maintain quality standards.
* Replace worn tooling and perform routine machine maintenance.
* Edit and adjust CNC programs when necessary to improve performance and efficiency.
* Maintain accurate production and quality records.
* Assist with training machine operators and support team members as needed.
* Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
* Previous experience setting up and operating Swiss CNC machines required.
* Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
* Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment.
* Experience with CNC program editing and troubleshooting preferred.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Quality Responsibilities
* Identify and address product or process issues that may impact quality.
* Document non-conformities and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
* Recommend and implement corrective actions when necessary.
* Stop production when required to prevent the manufacture or shipment of non-conforming products.
* Ensure compliance with all company quality standards and customer requirements.
