Machine Operator

Mancan in Massillon is assisting a local Massillon company that is looking for a machine operator. This is a 1st shift position 7am-3pm Monday - Friday paying $18 an hour.
The desired candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Machine Operator in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Prior experience with press and/or 4-slide machines is a plus. Must be able to read prints and job guides to perform the setup and operation of one or more ring forming machines. Need strong communication skills and efficient time management skills. Attention to detail is very important in this position.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Follow proper procedure for the set up and operation of machines to obtain quality control OK. Includes loading and unloading of wire, heat treating part where required and changing all necessary tooling.
• Knowledge of standard inspection equipment measuring allowable acceptance (.00005 to
.001). Ability to use micrometers and calipers.
• Inspect finished parts during production run to assure quality standards.
• Adjust machine and related equipment during production run to maintain quality standards.
• Perform complete changeovers as required.
• Perform sharpening of tools when necessary.
• Correct minor mechanical trouble and tool trouble as needed.
• Remove and replace full boxes, tube pack rings, and move full pallets to staging area as required by customer order or machine type.
• Obtain and move material to machine as necessary.
• Understand the principles of SPC charts and complete required paperwork.
• Complete all required paperwork associated with operator’s responsibilities.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• Perform other responsibilities as determined by supervisor.
• Strictly adhere to all documented work procedures.
• Demonstrate continued improvement in the areas of quality and productivity.
• Analytical Aptitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
