About the Role
Mancan Staffing is assisting a local client in their search for a Physical Security Systems Technician to join their field services team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in building a career in the security integration and low-voltage industry.
The technician will assist with the installation of commercial security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and low-voltage cabling. This position is ideal for someone with basic electrical knowledge, strong mechanical skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within a technical trade.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced technicians while gaining valuable hands-on experience, industry knowledge, and opportunities for professional development.
Responsibilities
• Assist with installation of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems
• Run, pull, and terminate low-voltage cabling according to project plans and safety standards
• Install devices including cameras, card readers, door hardware, sensors, and control panels
• Perform basic electrical connections and testing of installed equipment
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and installation instructions
• Safely operate hand tools and power tools
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support lead installers and project managers during installations
• Learn company products, systems, and installation procedures
• Follow all safety guidelines and company policies while working on job sites
Qualifications
Required:
• Basic electrical skills and understanding of low-voltage wiring
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn
Preferred:
• Experience in security systems, low-voltage, electrical, construction, or related fields
• Active electrical, alarm, or low-voltage license
• Familiarity with access control systems, cameras, or alarm systems
Travel & Schedule
• Position requires weekly travel to job sites
• Per diem is provided, and hotel/lodging expenses are covered while traveling
• Some projects may require a 14-day-on / 7-day-off rotation schedule
