Responsibilities
• Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff.
• Supervise and support line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen staff during each shift.
• Ensure all food is prepared consistently according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Help train, coach, and develop kitchen employees while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and inventory levels to minimize waste and control costs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen that meets all health department and food safety regulations.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and stocking food and kitchen supplies.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any maintenance or repair needs.
• Help create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during busy periods.
• Step into leadership responsibilities in the Kitchen Manager's absence.
• Promote a positive, professional, and safety-focused work environment.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
