Material Handler

Mancan is working with a company in Mt Vernon looking for a material handler/forklift operator to join their team. If you enjoy staying active, working in a fast-paced environment, and being an essential part of the team, this could be the perfect fit!
Schedule: Monday-Thursday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM with mandatory overtime on Fridays as needed
Job Duties:
- Operate a sit-down forklift to deliver raw materials, metal coils, packing supplies, and work-in-process inventory to production.
- Transport finished products and prepare them for storage using an automated pallet wrapper.
- Scan and track inventory with an RF handheld scanner.
- Respond quickly to production needs using walkie-talkie communication to keep operations running smoothly.
- Empty recycled metal hoppers and assist with material movement throughout the facility.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of sit-down forklift experience
- Previous material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must be comfortable with frequent on-and-off forklift work throughout the shift.
- Must be dependable with a strong commitment to safety.
