Mancan is recruiting for a Dispatcher / Transportation Coordinator with a well-established Wooster-area company in the fuel distribution industry. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who understands the challenges drivers face and can keep things moving when plans change.
This is more than answering phones and assigning trucks. You'll be coordinating drivers, fuel loads, customer deliveries, routes, inventory, and changing priorities throughout the day.

What You'll Be Doing
• Coordinate fuel deliveries and customer orders
• Schedule and communicate delivery needs with drivers
• Set up and manage the driver load board to help maximize routes and efficiency
• Monitor loads and deliveries through the company's tracking system
• Book customer orders for home heating oil and bulk fuel
• Monitor customer inventory and help prevent run-outs or delivery issues
• Work with wholesale teams to determine delivery locations and driver capacity
• Communicate with drivers, customers, sales, and internal teams throughout the day
• Adjust schedules and priorities as situations change
• Troubleshoot delivery and scheduling issues and make decisions quickly
• Help improve logistics processes and procedures

This Job Is Fast-Paced
Every day can look different. Customer needs change, deliveries shift, drivers have questions, and unexpected situations can happen. You'll need to be comfortable thinking on your feet, changing priorities, solving problems, and staying calm when things get busy.
This is a team environment, but there will be times when you'll need to use your own judgment and make decisions quickly.
The learning curve can be significant. This is a position where you'll continue learning the operation, customers, routes, systems, and processes over time. The goal is to become someone the team can rely on when things get complicated.
Schedule
Current openings on 1st & 2nd Shift:
• 1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 1:00 PM – 10:00/11:00 PM
• Weekend and overnight shifts are also part of the rotation and will be scheduled as needed.
• All employees participate in a rotating schedule. The team takes turns covering different shifts, including weekends and overnight on-call coverage.
• Candidates must be flexible and available to work different shifts as scheduled.
What We're Looking For
• Transportation, trucking, logistics, or dispatch experience preferred
• CDL or previous truck-driving experience is a strong plus
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable communicating with drivers and customers by phone
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-demand environment
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems
• Dependable and flexible with scheduling
• Ability to remain professional and
