Construction General Laborer

Mancan, in partnership with a local facility in Rome, OH, is seeking Construction Laborers to join their growing construction team.
Pay: Based on Experience
Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm but hours can vary based on jobs
As a Construction Laborer, you will play an important role in bringing construction projects from blueprints to completion. Our team handles projects from excavation through the final coat of paint, giving you the opportunity to gain experience across many areas of construction. You’ll work alongside skilled tradespeople while assisting with site preparation, concrete work, carpentry, finishing, and general construction tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with construction site preparation, setup, cleanup, material staging, and general labor
- Operate hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, and other construction equipment
- Assist with concrete pouring, cutting, finishing, and formwork construction
- Support rebar installation and concrete pumping operations
- Read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Perform heavy lifting, material handling, and other physically demanding tasks
- Assist with carpentry, drywall installation, stucco, plastering, caulking, and other finishing work
- Assist skilled tradespeople with various construction and renovation projects
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines and procedures
- Perform additional construction duties as needed to keep projects moving efficiently
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
- Previous construction or labor experience preferred, but not required — training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Ability to safely use common hand tools and power tools
- Basic understanding of construction methods and workplace safety
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings is a plus
- Knowledge of concrete forming, cutting, finishing, and pouring is a plus
- Carpentry experience is a plus
- Experience with rebar installation, formwork, drywall, renovations, or finishing work is helpful
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous
- Construction estimating experience is a plus
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions
- Ability to perform physical labor, including heavy lifting
