Host or Hostess

Mancan is working with a restaurant in Walnut Creek seeking a host/hostess. This is a temp to hire opportunity. This is a part time position, with hours varying based upon the needs of the restaurant. Hours may include evening shifts, Saturdays, and holidays. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. Pay is based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests, escort them to their tables, and provide menus
- Communicate with guests in a friendly, professional manner
- Ensure that guests are seated where they are most comfortable
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Take orders for carryout, forward orders to the kitchen, and package orders when they are finished
- Ensure shelves remain fully stocked and organized, rotating product as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of lobby and retail area
Qualifications:
- Positive attitude
- Strong customer service skills and a passion for serving others
- Strong communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence
- Ability to learn and use software program for processing orders and creating guest checks
