Group Lead – 3rd Shift
Location: Berlin, OH Area
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM
Pay: $BOE
Position Summary:
Mancan is partnering with a growing company in the Berlin area to find a dependable and experienced Group Lead to support the 3rd shift production team. The Group Lead will provide hands-on guidance and assistance to press operators, help maintain production efficiency and quality standards, and ensure operators have the materials and support needed to keep production running smoothly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day support, guidance, and assistance to press operators.
• Instruct operators on proper molding techniques, procedures, product specifications, quality requirements, and housekeeping standards.
• Help maintain production efficiency and minimize scrap by monitoring processes and assisting operators as needed.
• Ensure operators have the necessary materials and supplies to maintain production.
• Set up and start molds according to established process parameters.
• Change mold cavities and inserts as needed.
• Monitor rubber usage on presses and communicate material requirements to the mill operator.
• Calculate and assist with mixing and blending requirements for rubber compounds.
• Cut rubber material as needed.
• Monitor presses and report breakdowns or equipment issues to Maintenance.
• Perform minor repairs when qualified and appropriate.
• Maintain accurate production records, logs, and reports according to established work instructions.
• Work with Engineering to identify opportunities to improve molding techniques, molds, processes, quality, and efficiency.
• Assist with relieving press operators and other qualified production employees for lunches and breaks.
• Help promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and quality standards.
• Properly and safely operate power tools, equipment, and other materials.
Qualifications:
• Previous manufacturing, molding, rubber processing, or press operation experience preferred.
• Previous lead or team-lead experience is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and production procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide direction to other employees.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work a third-shift schedule.
• Ability to safely work around production equipment and materials.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can lead by example, support production employees, troubleshoot basic issues, and help keep the 3rd shift running efficiently.
