Position Summary
Mancan is partnering with a company in the Millersburg area to find a dependable and experienced Second Shift Production Group Leader to support their manufacturing team. This position provides hands-on support and assistance to production operators while helping maintain efficient production, quality standards, and a safe work environment.
The Group Leader will assist with molding operations, materials, equipment troubleshooting, operator support, and production documentation. This is a hands-on position for someone who can work well with others while helping keep production running smoothly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide daily support and assistance to production operators.
• Instruct operators on proper molding techniques, procedures, product specifications, quality requirements, and housekeeping standards.
• Monitor production to help maintain efficiency and scrap standards.
• Ensure operators have the necessary materials and supplies to complete production.
• Set up and start molds according to established process parameters.
• Change mold cavities and inserts as needed.
• Monitor material usage on rubber presses and communicate material requirements to the mill operator.
• Calculate mixing and blending requirements for rubber compounds.
• Cut rubber material as needed for production.
• Monitor presses and report breakdowns or malfunctions to the Maintenance Department.
• Perform minor repairs when qualified.
• Maintain accurate production records, logs, and reports according to work instructions.
• Work with Engineering to improve molding techniques, molds, processes, and overall production efficiency.
• Assist with relieving press operators and other qualified production employees for lunches and breaks as directed.
• Follow all company safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Properly and safely operate power tools, equipment, and production materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Previous manufacturing, molding, rubber processing, or press operation experience preferred.
• Previous lead or team-lead experience is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and production procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to provide direction and support to production employees.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work a Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–12:00 AM schedule.
• Ability to safely work around production equipment, rubber materials, and power tools.
