Production / Press Room Supervisor
Location: Weirton, WV
Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: M-F 5am-4pm.
Mancan Staffing is currently recruiting for an experienced Production / Press Room Supervisor for a manufacturing company in Weirton, WV.
This position provides hands-on leadership in a heavy industrial fabrication and press environment. The Supervisor will oversee employees, coordinate daily production activities, maintain quality and productivity standards, and ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise, coach, and organize daily workflows for press operators, setup technicians, and material handlers.
• Coordinate daily manufacturing operations to meet production schedules and customer demands.
• Provide hands-on floor leadership and ongoing employee training and cross-training.
• Communicate job expectations and production priorities clearly to team members.
• Monitor productivity, workflow, and staffing throughout the shift.
• Conduct regular dimensional and quality checks using micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and other precision tools.
• Ensure work-in-progress is properly tagged and fully traceable.
• Assist operators with complex tooling setups, including progressive dies and stage tooling.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and programming issues involving heavy-duty press, braking, and bending equipment.
• Coordinate shift scheduling and line allocation to maintain production flow and meet downstream department requirements.
• Conduct daily pre-shift safety briefings and enforce proper PPE, OSHA requirements, and company safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production floor.
• Oversee routine equipment care and tool sharpening.
• Supervise the safe staging, flipping, and loading of heavy steel coils and structural bundles using 5-ton and 10-ton overhead cranes.
• Ensure proper rigging procedures, load limits, and crane hand signals are followed.
• Address and resolve production, personnel, safety, and equipment issues as they arise.
Qualifications & Requirements
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience in heavy metal stamping, roll forming, structural steel fabrication, or a similar industrial environment.
• Previous floor leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Experience with press operations, welding, laser equipment, or robotics is highly preferred.
• Candidates must be willing to learn and work with robotic equipment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural layouts.
• Working knowledge of high-tonnage hydraulic equipment and tooling changeovers.
• Familiarity with inventory tags and production tracking systems preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume industrial environment.
• Must be able to stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 55 pounds.
• Must be dependable and available to work the full First Shift schedule of 5:00 AM–4:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional overtime.
• Ability to safely oversee overhead crane operations and heavy-material handling.
