Canton Mancan Professional Staffing Agency is assisting a growing developmental disabilities (DD) provider in the Canton area seek an experienced Program Director.
This is a full time opportunity, Monday-Friday with flexible business hours. Salary is BOE ($62,000–$72,500).
This candidate is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered residential services and providing strategic operational leadership in addition to assisting organizational infrastructure and consistent performance across our residential program.
This is a hands-on operations leadership position, focused on day-to-day execution, team development, regulatory compliance, process improvement, and operational accountability.
The Program Director will serve as a key internal leader, creating structure and stability while allowing the CEO to focus on organizational priorities and growth. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required with the ability to effectively manage multi-line phone systems, handle high-volume calls, and accurately process customer orders.
Key responsibilities include being the primary internal point of contact for managers and DSPs for operational issues, addressing all employee concerns, DSP complaints, and internal escalations before they reach the CEO as well as leading, coaching and holding residential managers accountable for quality, safety, staffing, and compliance.
This candidate will conduct regular site visits and spot checks, including operational audits.
They will monitor schedules and call-offs as well as staffing patterns; ensuring coverage and use of effective call-off management systems. They are able to work under pressure without becoming overwhelmed and are comfortable making decisions and seeing them through.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of leadership/management experience in DD services, residential services, assisted living, behavioral health, or a related field
•Verifiable experience with supervising managers or team leads (not just frontline staff)
• Strong understanding of residential operations: staffing, scheduling, documentation, compliance, and crisis response
• Demonstrated experience creating or enforcing processes, policies, and accountability
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel regularly between sites
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience as a Residential Director, Program Director, Program Manager, PC, or similar role in DD or human services
• Knowledge of Ohio DD regulations and county board/SSA systems
• Experience leading through growth, change, or operational turnaround
