Massillon Mancan is assisting a local company in Hartville, OH with finding a Machine Set up Technician to join their 1st shift team. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:30a- 4p Pay is $19+ BOE
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Set Up Technician to join our injection molding team. The Set Up Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently changing and installing molds in injection molding machines, preparing equipment for production, and ensuring molds and work areas are properly maintained.
Responsibilities:
• Safely install and remove molds from injection molding machines according to established procedures.
• Read work orders and mold setup sheets to ensure the correct mold and inserts are installed.
• Follow Scientific Molding Process water diagrams, mold setup checklists, and applicable work instructions.
• Clean mold parting lines, cavity/core inserts, and part chutes or conveyor belts after mold installation.
• Clean, protect, and lubricate molds prior to removal, including leader pins, bushings, and other moving components.
• Apply light oil to mold bases and machine platens when needed to prevent rust.
• Perform mold insert changeovers when necessary.
• Operate and understand the various injection machine controllers used throughout the facility.
• Clean the work area after mold installations and return removed molds to their proper storage locations.
• Report mold or machine damage and other equipment issues to the Assistant Supervisor, Supervisor, or Engineering.
• Train employees on grinding and material handling procedures and maintain required documentation.
• Maintain and properly care for all company-supplied tools and report missing or damaged tools.
• Serve as a backup to the Assistant Supervisor and assist with starting up injection molding machines.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Assistant Supervisor or Shift
Supervisor.
Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in an injection molding manufacturing environment, including mold storage and handling.
• Prior injection molding experience strongly preferred.
• Must be forklift certified and able to safely operate a forklift.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices involving molds, injection molding machines, and related equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Highly motivated with a willingness to learn and advance skills according to the company's skilled labor training matrix.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read and follow work orders, setup sheets, procedures, and safety instructions.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with heavier weights required at times.
• Must be able to safely handle molds, tools, and manufacturing equipment.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work around injection molding equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely perform all essential job functions in a manufacturing environment.
