Mancan Staffing is partnering with a growing manufacturing facility in Austinburg, OH, in search of an experienced, hands-on Tank Assembly Group Lead to join their team!
We are looking for a motivated leader who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and work alongside their team! The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, previous manufacturing leadership experience, and a commitment to quality, safety, and production efficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and coordinate daily tank assembly operations to meet production goals.
- Work hands-on alongside team members throughout the assembly process.
- Oversee the installation of fittings, gussets, manways, lids, and internal tank components.
- Perform final quality inspections to ensure products meet company standards.
- Identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Train, coach, and mentor assembly employees.
- Assign daily tasks and coordinate production priorities.
- Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- Recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and workflow.
- Learn and perform plastic welding techniques used in tank construction.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
✅ QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing experience required.
- 2+ years of supervisory, leadership, or team lead experience required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, production schedules, and work instructions.
- Experience in plastics manufacturing, rotational molding, tank manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial assembly preferred.
- Plastic welding or thermoplastic fabrication experience is a plus!
- Plumbing, pipefitting, or related trade experience is beneficial.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while motivating and supporting a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and climb as needed.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
