Mancan Medina is seeking an experienced Journeyman Tool and Die Maker for a local manufacturing company in the Brunswick area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in progressive stamping dies, including building, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair. This individual must be skilled at diagnosing tooling issues, maintaining tight tolerances, and ensuring dies produce quality parts efficiently and consistently.
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: Low $30s per hour, based on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
Build, assemble, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair progressive stamping dies.
Diagnose tooling problems and identify the root causes of part defects.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
Operate manual machine tools, including mills, lathes, surface grinders, and drill presses.
Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions, clearances, tolerances, and finished components.
Perform progressive die tryouts, troubleshoot production issues, and recommend process improvements.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve die performance and part quality.
Apply knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, grinding, and precision fitting.
Utilize knowledge of CNC machining and wire EDM when needed.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications:
Journeyman-level experience in tool and die making.
Strong experience with progressive stamping dies, including troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
Proficiency with manual machine tools and precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of CNC machining, wire EDM, tool steels, heat treatment, and precision grinding preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent attendance record required.
Must have a clean background.
