Job Title: Construction Laborer
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Hourly Rate: $16/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Job Description:
• Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring secure transportation and delivery.
• Conduct pre-trip/safety inspections of the equipment to assess and address any mechanical or safety issues.
• Operate machinery and hand tools appropriately and safely.
• Building and dismantling temporary structures like scaffolding and ladders.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and regulations while operating company owned vehicles.
• Follow instructions from the site supervisor to ensure materials are delivered to the designated location within specified timeframes.
• Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, including hours of operation, and any incidents encountered on the road.
• Collaborate with team members to support the smooth flow of operations and assist with other tasks as needed.
• General laborer duties (i.e. site preparation and clean-up, supply run, shop duties, etc.).
• Assist skilled workers (i.e. carpenters, masons and plumbers) with their tasks.
• Carpentry work as instructed.
• Concrete prepping, pouring and finishing skills.
• Plumbing tasks as instructed.
• Complete detailed daily reports, (i.e. timesheet).
• Janitorial tasks.
• Any additional duties as assigned.
• Ensure work area is clean, safe and organized.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:
• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid Driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Ability to adhere to strict safety protocols and precautions
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials when required
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a part of a team.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screening.
• The ability to work in harsh weather conditions for extended periods of time.
• The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
