A well-established Wadsworth-area manufacturer is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team!
Starting pay of $30/hr DOE
2nd shift is Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential for the right candidate.
Company is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and industrial experience, including advanced knowledge of PLC logic controls and drive systems. This role is critical to maintaining and improving the performance, reliability, and safety of our production equipment and facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery and facility equipment.
Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and complete scheduled maintenance during downtime.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders to effectively perform maintenance tasks.
Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic as needed to support production efficiency.
Analyze equipment performance and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase reliability.
Perform basic machinist duties to support changeovers, screw pulls, and equipment adjustments.
Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and facility upkeep, including minor carpentry work.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions to leadership.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all safety regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Strong industrial maintenance background with a focus on electrical systems.
Proven experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
Experience with drives (VFDs), motors, and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Solid mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and general machinery repair.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or on-call as needed.
Requirements:
Ability to pass a background check, DMV check ( valid Driver's license, no current points) and 10 panel urine drug screen.
High school diploma or GED needed.
Ability to lift at least 50-60 pounds.
