Wooster was established in 1808 by John Bever, William Henry, and Joseph Larwill, and named after David Wooster, a general in the American Revolutionary War. It is the largest city and the county seat in Wayne County. It is the home of Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) and Ohio Agricultural Regional Development Center (OARDC) and the College of Wooster. Wooster is an agricultural center in Ohio and this is proudly displayed at the Wayne County Fair, held each September.
