**Mechanical Design Engineer**

**Company Overview:**
Mancan has partnered up with a company in the Smithville area specializing in the design and engineering of structural and sheet metal fabrications, including conveyors, conveyor systems, enclosures, and power bases, is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.
**Job Description:**
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and engineering high-quality, cost-effective products. You will collaborate with internal staff and customers to ensure that products meet customer specifications, resulting in utmost customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will contribute to the success of the company by providing exceptional technical and customer service skills.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Product Design and Engineering:**
- Conduct product research and analysis for proper components and fabrication materials.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations.
- Produce and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Maintain engineering files and prepare/update engineering documents and reports.
2. **Sales Engineering & Application and Field Work:**
- Attend project meetings and assist with proposals and sales support.
- Collaborate with Applications Engineer and sales on customer concepts.
- Perform technical work, including plan review, cost analysis, and preparing quotes.
- Oversee installations and start-ups as needed.
3. **Preparing Bills, Routers, & Drawings for Shop Floor:**
- Process and release customer orders for production.
- Prepare and release drawings, documentation, and material requests.
- Complete General Arrangement drawings, detailed shop working drawings, and bill of materials.
- Prepare programs for machines using relevant software.
4. **Project Management:**
- Work with customers, vendors, and shop personnel to identify needs and design cost-effective products.
- Provide assistance to subcontractors as necessary.
- Take responsibility for necessary paperwork and arrange the shipment of jobs.
**Qualifications:**
- AAS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; BSME degree or BS in Engineering Technology desired.
- At least 2 years of experience as a design engineer or mechanical designer.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication and material handling design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, 2D & 3D CAD CAM Programming, and relevant software.
**Job Type:** Full-time
**Salary:** $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
