Job Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
Must have a technical background, preferably at least an associates degree in engineering, and a mechanical background in manufacturing.
Objectives:
1. Manage your area of the production floor safely
2. Meet or exceed customer expectations in quality and on time delivery
3. Recognize expected budgets and accurately account for materials and labor allocated to orders
4. Continuous Improvement
5. Develop, train and retain employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage your area of the production floor safely
a. Help maintain proper ergonomics in work cells by aiding in designing or modifying the work to fit the worker in an effort to eliminate discomfort and risk of injury due to work.
b. Report all unsafe working conditions to the Production Manager, Plant Manager, or higher, immediately upon discovery.
2. Meet or exceed customer expectations in quality and on time delivery
a. Review and understand the Quality Manual and Quality Policy.
b. Use manufacturing and technical knowledge to plan or assist in planning and executing an efficient, effective schedule
c. Ensure your team understands how to read a manufacturing print and follows the specific instructions on each, to ensure product quality and consistency.
i. Ensure that your team understands and follows procedures.
ii. Ensure that your team uses prescribed materials per the standards specified and as called out in the router package.
d. Maintain the integrity of the lot control system through the department(s).
e. Monitor required lead-times through department, based on load and capacity, and report increases or decreases.
3. Recognize expected budgets and accurately account for materials and labor allocated to orders
a. Execute orders in a way to meet or exceed materials and labor budgets. Report large discrepancies.
i. Identify/verify that the optimum tools, methods, equipment, and personnel are being utilized. Communicate, if required, to plan or change a non-optimized plan to improve quality, efficiency, and/or on-time delivery.
ii. Hold operators accountable to meet expectations
4. Continuous Improvement: Work to continuously improve safety and lower manufacturing costs (labor and material)
a. Assist with the creation and/or modification of manufacturing procedures in partnership with Engineering
b. Work with plant manager and production manager to suggest and implement changes to production processes for the benefit of EGC and its customers
c. Identify ways that labor can be saved within work centers or by more efficiently running production
5. Develop, Train and Retain employees
a. Continuously train/re-train employees on all aspects of their job. Monitor training effectiveness and retrain, as needed.
B. Ensure that employees have everything they need to safely complete orders with the required product quality in the required time. (training, proper equipment, PPE, tooling, and clearly communicated expectations)
c. Provide feedback to employees on their performance (positive & negative). Show appreciation for a job well done.
