Job Title: Truck and Trailer Technician
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Truck and Trailer Technician. In this role, you will performs a wide range of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues in engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and other mechanical components.
Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, brake replacements, suspension repairs, and other mechanical fixes to ensure proper functioning of vehicles.
Electrical and Electronic Systems: Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, sensors, lighting, and onboard computer systems.
Hydraulic Systems: Service and repair hydraulic systems used in heavy-duty trucks and trailers, such as hydraulic brakes, lifts, and other specialized equipment.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential problems before they lead to breakdowns or accidents. This may involve checking fluid levels, lubricating parts, and replacing worn-out components.
Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication work to repair or modify truck bodies, frames, and trailer components.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all repairs and modifications are in accordance with safety standards and regulations set by relevant authorities, such as the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Tools and Equipment: Properly use and maintain a wide range of tools and equipment, both hand tools and specialized machinery, required for the job.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics is a plus).
Relevant certifications such as ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certifications in diesel engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Work Schedule and Compensation:
Full-time position with a Monday to Friday schedule 7am-5pm
Pay rate - $21.00 an hour
Resume and Interview required.
The job may require working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Technicians may need to work evenings, weekends, and overtime to meet deadlines or respond to emergencies.
