Tool and Die Maker

Direct hire opportunity for a local company looking for a skilled and motivated Tool and Die Maker to optimize manufacturing processes and contribute to operational excellence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage daily activities for tooling upkeep and repair within the plant.
- Provide manufacturing assistance and support for new and existing products and processes.
- Design, develop, and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Conduct research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, addressing production flow, process methods, equipment, safety, and environmental impact.
- Participate in development work, including skilled fitting, timing, adjustment, and construction of tools.
- Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, controls, safety, and environmental concerns.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic engineering blueprints, tooling prints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in drawing or sketching product designs.
- Strong math skills and proficiency in operating measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Familiarity with safe operation of machine shop equipment.
- Skill in operating, functioning, and programming machine shop equipment such as turning, grinding, and welding.
- Strong teamwork ability.
- Attention to detail and high integrity.
- Flexibility to work any hours as needed.
- Stress tolerance.
- Proficient in standard computer usage (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook), as well as the ability to learn proprietary systems.
Desired Qualifications:
- Preferably, 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing tooling environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent; Degree in Machine Tool Technology, Machining, or related manufacturing disciplines, or manufacturing-related experience with supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in computer and computer-assisted design (AUTO CAD) is preferred.
- Willingness to work the hours needed to complete each daily schedule.
