Job Title: Labeling & Packaging Technician
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Location: Mentor, OH
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for accurately and efficiently labeling products. Secondary responsibilities include filling and packaging these products to meet company standards for quality and timeliness.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Review fill tickets and follow all process instructions.
* Coordinate daily tasks with the Production Supervisor.
* Print labels using a computer-based system.
* Maintain inventory of private party labels.
* Operate and maintain both the one-gallon labeling line and five-gallon labeling machine.
* Process retain labels and duplicate fill tickets; apply lot number labels as required.
* Understand the labeling equipment’s functionality for safe and efficient operation; perform manual labeling if needed.
* Report any equipment issues or supply needs to the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager.
* Manage cardboard recycling in the labeling area.
Secondary Responsibilities:
* Operate automated and semi-automated filling equipment.
* Safely connect/disconnect pressurized systems.
* Identify correct containers and fill volumes.
* Minimize waste and spills in accordance with company policies.
* Perform clean checks, retain sample procedures, and equipment checks.
* Clean tanks and equipment between batches.
* Accurately record batch ticket data including container counts, materials used, and process times.
Qualifications:
* Able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
* Basic math and computer skills, including use of Microsoft Outlook.
* Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.
* Mechanically inclined; able to use hand and power tools.
* Able to operate a Powered Industrial Truck (forklift).
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Education / Experience
* General factory experience required.
* Experience with chemical mixing or packaging is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift and move up to 90 pounds frequently.
* Must stand, walk, reach, and use hands throughout the shift.
* Must occasionally climb stairs and wear a respirator for certain tasks.
* Vision requirements include close, distance, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
* Non-air-conditioned manufacturing environment.
* Regular exposure to loud noise, fumes, and airborne particles.
* Frequent contact with moving mechanical equipment.
