Mancan in Massillon is assisting a local company who is looking for a Controller. The work is fast paced, detailed, and requires great organizational skills to anticipate the needs of their 40 offices located over 6 states.
The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including; maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, general ledger preparation, tax preparation for the multitude of cities, along with state and federal taxes and work closely with our accounting firm.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• create and examine financial records.
• Ensure all financial records and statements are in line with laws, regulations and generally accepted account principles (GAAP). These records and statements will include the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow statement, tax returns and income statement.
• Resolve any discrepancies or irregularities found in records, statements, or documented transactions.
• Prepare financial statements and close financials, Monthly/Quarterly/Annually
• Monitor and Reconcile Bank Statements
• Close the year, print and submission of W-2’s
• Tax Preparation: State (6 States), Local (100+) City Taxes, Sales Tax Withholding, Personal Property Tax and Payroll Taxes
• Auditing financial statements.
• Experience in Payroll
• Experience in Excel
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or 8+ years’ experience
Hours M-F 8am-5pm
Pay: Based on experience.
