Mancan Norwalk seeking a people-oriented and detail-focused HR Generalist in the Norwalk area. This role is essential in supporting HR operations, ensuring legal compliance and cultivating a strong and consistent people experience across the organization.
This position is a direct hire opportunity with a starting wage of $59-65K salary per year based on experience.
The ideal candidate will have solid generalist HR experience in a manufacturing environment, strong working knowledge of local labour law, and proficiency in both the Spanish language and professional English.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Lifecycle Management
•Coordinate all stages of the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to exit and offboarding processes.
•Support probation, performance appraisal, and contract renewal cycles in collaboration with line managers.
2. HR Administration and Compliance
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and ensure compliance with local legal guidelines and internal policies.
•Support policy development and implementation in alignment with local labour legislation.
•Ensure legal documentation (contracts, letters, etc.) are up to date and filed appropriately.
3. Payroll Support and Timekeeping
•Collect, verify and submit payroll inputs including attendance, absences, overtime, and leave balances.
•Ensure timekeeping systems are accurately maintained and support reconciliation processes with finance.
4. Recruitment and Onboarding
• Assist in talent acquisition, including job posting, CV screening, interview coordination
and candidate communication in collaboration with Group HR.
• Facilitate smooth onboarding processes for new hires, including induction and system
setup.
5. Training and Development
• Support local training initiatives by coordinating logistics, tracking attendance, and
updating training records.
• Collaborate with Group HR to implement and monitor development programmes.
6. Employee Engagement and Support
• Act as a point of contact for employee queries, fostering a positive and inclusive
workplace culture.
• Support internal communication efforts and employee engagement initiatives.
7. HR Reporting and Metrics
• Prepare monthly HR reports for HQ, including headcount, absence rates, recruitment
status, training metrics and other KPIs.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting processes.
Education & Professional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• HR certifications (e.g., CIPD) are desirable.
Experience
• At least 2 years of experience in an HR Generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing
or industrial environment.
Technical Skills
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
Knowledge
• Sound understanding of local labour law and HR best practices.
• Experience with payroll input coordination and policy administration.
Language Skills
• Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory.
• Professional English proficiency is required for internal communications and reporting
both written and verbal.
