"**Job Title:** Fab Shop Utility Assistant
**Department:** Fabrication Shop
***Shift: Monday - Friday 6a to 4:30pm. Pay is BOE: $16-$20/PH.
### **Position Summary**
The Fab Shop Utility Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the fabrication shop by assisting with various tasks throughout the lifecycle of shop projects. This includes parts handling, transportation, communication with vendors and warehouse staff, and general shop organization. This is a hands-on position that requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
### **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
* Pick up and deliver parts from regional vendors and customers as needed.
* Interact professionally with vendors when collecting or dropping off materials.
* Coordinate with the warehouse team regarding part availability and inventory.
* Assist in the organization, sorting, and tracking of parts and components as they are processed through the fabrication shop.
* Support overall shop cleanliness and workflow as needed.
### **Tools and Equipment Used**
* Company vehicles (must be insurable under company policy)
* Forklift, pallet jack, and wash station (training provided if necessary)
* Company phone and other tools as needed
### **Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
* Able to follow direction and communicate effectively with management and team members
* Reliable, team-focused, and willing to take initiative
### **Physical Demands and Work Environment**
* Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively
* Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally
* Must be able to navigate stairs and perform repetitive physical tasks
* Work environment may range from moderate to high noise levels
