Charleston Mancan is assisting a Charleston area company seeking a concrete finisher .
This is a Direct Hire position - salary is $40 per hour.
Job Title: Concrete Finisher
Job Summry:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete surfaces. This role requires experience with a variety of hand and power tools, knowledge of concrete mixing and pouring techniques, and the ability to interpret blueprints and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete (such as floors, sidewalks, roads, or curbs) using a variety of hand and power tools.
Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints.
Read blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine layout and materials required.
Apply sealing and hardening components to cure surfaces.
Monitor the effects of weather on concrete to ensure timely and proper setting and curing.
Use trowels, screeds, floats, and edgers to level and finish concrete surfaces.
Mold expansion joints and edges using jointers and straightedges.
Operate equipment such as concrete saws, mixers, and vibrators safely and efficiently.
Ensure quality workmanship while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
Clean and maintain tools and work areas.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a concrete finisher or similar role in the construction industry.
Knowledge of concrete composition and finishing techniques.
Familiarity with construction safety standards and procedures.
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and physical stamina.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
Working Conditions:
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Physically demanding, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
