Job Summary:
As a dishwasher, you play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in our kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are cleaned and sanitized efficiently, allowing our kitchen staff to focus on food preparation and service. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using the dishwashing machine or by hand, ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation to meet food safety standards.
2. Sorting and Storing: Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils appropriately, ensuring they are stored in designated areas in an organized manner for easy access by kitchen staff.
3. Assisting with Kitchen Operations: Support kitchen staff as needed by emptying trash bins, sweeping and mopping floors, and maintaining cleanliness in food preparation and storage areas.
4. Monitoring Inventory: Keep track of dishwashing supplies such as detergent, rinse aid, and cleaning tools, and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
5. Adhering to Safety Standards: Follow all safety and sanitation protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and wearing appropriate protective gear to prevent accidents or injuries.
6. Team Collaboration:Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operation of the kitchen during peak hours.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role preferred but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's schedule.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
