Mancan Staffing is hiring in Wheeling, WV for an inspector position! Pay is based on experience. Position is full time, temp to hire with daylight hours M-F!
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspects machined parts, components, assemblies, and materials to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory guidelines (Military Standards, ASTM, and ANSI, and ASME Code).
• Provides various electronic and hard copy reports of inspections and notifies appropriate parties including project engineers.
• Sets up and calibrates measuring and test equipment and schedules service and repair of equipment. May maintain calibration computer databases.
• May observe testing and provide oversight, as necessary, to verify compliance with requirements. May perform nondestructive examinations on various metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts, and assemblies using methods such as penetrant, hi-pot and hardness testing.
• May interact with regulatory agencies and customers during audits and review of company inspection and calibration activities.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
• Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
• Additional Duties Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree, trade school certificate, military training or equivalent in quality inspections or certification by a professional group such as ASQ or AWS
• One or more years of progressive experience in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical or metrology inspection and calibration. May substitute additional experience in lieu of formal education and training.
• Experience in electrical or mechanical industrial equipment, preferred
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and schematics
• Experience using inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, pin gages, thread ring & plug gages, plain ring gages, height gages, profilometers, radius gages, dial indicators, and optical comparators preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and mathematical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Abilit to work independently and as part of a team
