📝 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Design/Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in product design, engineering development, testing, and regulatory compliance. This position also supports and monitors manufacturing processes to ensure consistent, high-quality part performance.
🚀 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
🛠️ Lead projects from initial concept through production.
✏️ Design new parts and implement revisions for existing components.
📐 Create and update 3D and 2D design drawings.
🔍 Participate in annual product testing and adjust designs to maintain compliance.
🤝 Collaborate with vendors on engineering and manufacturing projects.
📊 Evaluate part performance and verify product specifications.
🔎 Conduct research on new product requirements.
✔️ Ensure product and process quality through testing methods, standards, and documentation.
👨🏭 Support development by training and guiding technicians and factory employees.
🧩 Design fixtures for manufacturing and finishing operations.
🧪 Improve manufacturing processes by developing research programs and analyzing tooling, materials, and fabrication methods.
⚖️ Ensure compliance with all government regulations.
📚 Maintain expertise by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in professional groups.
🗣️ Provide sales and customer service teams with accurate specifications and product-use guidance. 🤲 Contribute to team goals and perform related tasks as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
🎯 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
💻 Strong CAD/CAM design skills — SolidWorks required
🗣️ Excellent communication & ability to present technical information.
⭐ Leadership and supervisory skills.
📦 Understanding of hardware specifications, manufacturing methods, and procedures.
🔧 Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards & product development processes.
🔄 Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
🎓 EDUCATION
A degree or diploma in a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
