📞 Switchboard Operator Lead
**Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Hourly**

We are seeking a **Switchboard Operator Lead** to play a vital role in hospital communications. This position combines **leadership, customer service, and emergency response**, making it ideal for someone who stays calm under pressure and leads by example.
🔹 What You’ll Do
* Answer and route all incoming and outgoing calls
* Operate paging systems and Doctor’s Registry
* Handle **overhead emergency paging** (Code Blue, fire, disaster codes)
* Prioritize and document Medic Alert and emergency calls
* Maintain accurate logs and communication records
* Serve as a key communication hub for staff, physicians, patients, and families
🧭 Leadership Responsibilities
* Maintain the Communications Department schedule, including on-call coverage
* Manage time-off requests using **ADP**
* Participate in the **Life Safety Committee** as the Communications representative
* Assist with onboarding and training new department employees
* Provide readiness feedback to the Switchboard Supervisor
🛠 Operational Duties
* Follow service standards and complete shift checklists
* Maintain operator consoles and emergency code instructions
* Prepare daily on-call and Doctor’s Registry lists
* Process patient valuables according to procedure
* Prepare outgoing mail and certified documents
* Communicate with hardware/software vendors for troubleshooting

* Model professionalism and empathy in all interactions
* Maintain patient and staff confidentiality at all times
* Foster positive relationships across hospital departments
* Promote a team-focused culture of reliability and service excellence
✅ Must-Have Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED
* No written disciplinary action in the past 12 months
* Computer proficiency (Windows, Word Processing)
⭐ Preferred Experience
* Switchboard or business office experience
* Strong verbal communication skills
* 911 Dispatcher experience
* Call Center or Contact Center background
